What do I need to do?

Please fill out the form below and we’ll get in touch with you asap

Someone from the Church will then give you a ring as soon as possible to ask you a few questions and arrange the time and date for the Baptism.

We will then arrange a meeting with you and your family, either at the Church or at your home, at a convenient time for you.

We’ll encourage you and your family to come along to one of our Services at least once before the Baptism. Our Sunday Service is at 9.30am and our Church family would love to welcome you.

If your child is older and has decided in his own right that he/she wants to be baptised then we ask for an opportunity to speak to them and discuss with them their faith. We may ask him/her to demonstrate their commitment by coming to Church regularly or coming along to our Kids or Youth clubs.

If you’re an Adult it’s not too late to be Baptised too and we would love to talk to you.

Can I have my Child Baptised at Walker Parish?

We love having Baptisms at Walker Parish and we really want to welcome you and your family, so we don’t want to turn anyone away. Anyone who lives in the Parish (the area around the Church) is entitled to arrange a Baptism here.

If you don’t live in the Parish, it’s still possible to be Baptised here, we will just need to ask you some further questions to understand why you want the baptism to be at Walker Parish.

If you are not sure which Parish you belong to, you can go to: www.achurchnearyou.com

When do Baptisms take place?

Baptisms usually take place at 11.30am or during our main Church Service at 9.30am on Sundays though we can sometimes offer other times.

We will be as accommodating as possible about a date for the baptism though we apologise that sometimes you won’t be able to get the date or time you want. We strongly advise that you please arrange the Baptism with us before booking venues or catering for your Baptism after party.

The Service lasts about 20-30 minutes and usually contains prayers for your child, a reading from the Bible as well as the Baptism itself.

There is even a chance for a Godparent or family member to say a few words.
